Riverside 2nd Ward...
Today has been one of those eye opening days. Today I took forever to get to church so of course we were late. So my husband and I sat outside of bishops office waiting for our class to start. He called us in his office just to chat and it was just nice to sit and talk about what's going on with us. We are still getting to know everyone in the ward and as big as this ward is he still remembers us. He even told us that he kept thinking of us this past week just made me feel the spirit so strong cause really life is good but we just needed to see him. So I guess I can say it was meant for us to be late today cause it was a much needed conversation we had today with our bishop he took a load off our shoulders (the only place you could do that). Just reminded me that he is a man called of God and he does get prompted by the spirit to see that everyone in our ward is ok. Love our Bishop!!
Not only did we get to talk to our bishop we had such a good lesson in Sunday school. A much needed lesson that I needed to hear. We talked a lot about weakness and majority of us had the same weakness which was "Pride". I was so amazed at the examples everyone gave just because I see it in my everyday life. People who are so caught up in materialistic things they forget the important things in life. Another big one was comparing yourself to others and wanting things they have. It's always good to be reminded that you need to be happy with what you got. I myself come from a humble home my parents gave me the best but at the same time they showed me how to work hard for what I want. I love the quote "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day teach a man to fish and he can feed himself for life" it's honestly the truth.
I notice all the examples that we heard today in Sunday school is something we all go thru. Especially Polynesians in general they always need to do things so big and need to show off but in the church it's all about being simple. It was a great lesson and I was once again reminded that not only kids go to church to learn but church is for every age group to learn more of God and his teachings.
I am still working on many things I am not perfect but I am trying my best to be a better me. I am so grateful for this wonderful gospel....I love my Riverside 2nd Ward... I love everyone I work with in Young Women. I never laughed so much in my life since I've met these ladies I'm so happy they all have a good sense of humor and at the sametime they are so spiritual I learn a lot from them and I can be myself which is a total plus ...so excited for this year..
