2018 so far
Highlights of 2018:
Seriously been on slacking with this blog.
Well all I can say is this year has been flying by so fast. I’ve set 1 goal this year and I’ve yet to proactively work on this goal. The one and only goal for the year is to finish the Book of Mormon. Emosi also bought us a study guide and I’ve only done 1 or 2 pages of. Gonna try my hardest to get it done!!
We’ve been trying to take trips whenever we’re free. Early this year we couldn’t really leave home cause of our work schedules so we planned a staycation. We planned to visit Waco, Tx and visit magnolia farms. It was hilarious we rented a car and got a room for a couple nights. We drove there it took us an hour and a half lol 🤣😂. We laughed so hard when the gps said we were there but it was so fun and very relaxing. We got a lot of shopping done for our big trip in March to Tonga. We ate visited magnolia farms at the silos it was everything we imagined it to be. We just love the show fixer upper. So we can officially cross that off our Texas bucket list.
March:
We decided in December that we would be going to Tonga that was all my sister wanted for her 30th birthday. We only had a few short months to save and plan but it was such a much needed reality check for me. I haven’t been there since I was a teen and just before we went they got hit with a big Cyclone Gita. It was a very bad cyclone that took a lot of homes, power and destroyed a lot of Tonga. We were so paranoid about going but we made it there. Just the 4 of us my sister and her husband Issac and me and Mosi. To see my grandpa Siones face again was the best thing ever. This trip just made me so emotional and because i really missed my grandpa I expressed my feelings for him whenever I could.
We also met my grandpas kids gosh they were so cute. We instantly fell in love with all of them. My sister and I also met our namesake Atilani gosh she’s so cute and so smart. We spent most days playing cards, going Eva to town and site seeing. But the fun mostly happened at home lol we taught them a lot of new card games. We also visited our dads family in vaini but mostly just stayed in Houma. This is one trip I will never forget It just made me realize how blessed we are in America. The things we truly take for granted you don’t realize till you don’t have it anymore. Such a eye opening experience!! Also made us take a step back and analyze our lives. When we left Tonga I cried my eyes out and kept missing them all. But luckily we set them up so that we could stay in contact with them daily. The thing I always miss is hearing my grandpa laugh so when we FaceTime with him it makes me so happy to hear him laugh.
We also spent a few days in Australia man Mosis family totally made sure we made it to all the sites in Aussie. It was so fun and more than I was expecting of Aussie. Also got to see my cousin Polo whom I haven’t seen in forever. It was a good trip overall and I’m happy my sister decided to go to Tonga. It was one for the books!! We’re also planning to go back in August lol.
Couple weeks after we returned my grandma Kaveinga passed away in Oregon. It was a sad occasion but it was so nice to be together with my Tokoma’ata-Pole’o family. Nearly all our first cousins in America made it and also Polo and Darren made it from Aussie. It was a beautiful farewell to my grandma!!
It is now May 2018 and like I said we’ve been taking trips when possible. Mosi went to New York 2 weeks ago to be at his brother Rafael’s graduation and I am at the moment on a plane home from Las Vegas just day trips here and there while still planning big trips.
We have a lot going on this year and plenty to look forward too. This year is our 10th year wedding anniversary! Feel like we’re coming near a huge milestone lol. 10 years down eternity to go.. excited to see where life takes us this year. We just let go and let God lead the way.
